Description

Here is a nice World War II U.S. Springfield M1 Garand with serial number 362153. Manufactured around March-April 1943, this Garand has a Springfield Armory barrel, dated “3- 45”. The milled trigger guard (D28290-12-SA), safety (SA-11), operating rod (6535382 SA) and bolt (D28287-19SA) are all manufactured by Springfield Armory. It also has a Type 3 square lock bar rear site, with a “BATTLE RANGE” cap. The dark walnut two-piece stock is matching and in good condition for its age, showing nicks and scratches throughout, all consistent with field use and storage. A rack number, “16”, is painted in white and a high-pressure proof stamp is visible on the pistol grip. There are no other visible cartouche markings on the stock. Barrel is clean and the rifling is still prominent. The trigger and action are tight and function properly. No oxidation is visible on the metal parts. Overall, this is a very nice example of a World War II Garand with matching Springfield Armory parts. Please see photos for overall condition.
