Description
Late 19th/Early 20th Century Pacific Fijian Kiakavo Fijian War Club. Typically used as a dance club in ceremonial events. Since there is no prominent cutting edge, they were rarely used for fighting. The handle of the club was often covered in sennit string, but in this case, it is hand carved with repetitive traditional patterns extending 8.5” from the base of the club. Overall dimensions are 39” long and the handle diameter is 1.62”. Please see photos.
