A fantastic lot of four original black and white aircraft profile postcards, each featuring a WWII naval aircraft—the Grumman F6F Hellcat and Grumman TBF Avenger—and each autographed by the pilot ace depicted. This exceptional collection includes signatures from four distinct, highly decorated figures of the Pacific Theater: Two signatures from Major Joe Foss (USMC Ace of Aces, 26 victories), Capt. David McCampbell (USN Ace of Aces, 34 victories, Medal of Honor recipient), Cdr. Alex Vraciu (USN, 19 victories, Navy Cross recipient), and a highly decorated Marine Corps Ace from VMF-115 credited with 15 victories. The pilots served in key units like VMF-121, VMF-115, VF-16, and Air Group 15. The materials appear to be heavy card stock, printed with high-quality, pen-and-ink style artwork. The condition is excellent, with sharp corners, no visible creases, and clear, bold signatures, consistent with items kept in protective sleeves or a collection album; the only wear is extremely minor edge toning commensurate with age.
