Lot 1079:
Description
BRINGBACK! Excellent example of a NAVY “Special Type 99” Arisaka Type 99 7.7 Rifle in very good condition with minimum wear to the stock or metal parts. It has a solid front cap with no accommodation for a cleaning rod.. The firearm is properly painted in black enamel like it left the factory & not removed by some GI. It is filled with cosmoline. Receiver is rough casted, and the safety has the large weld of a late produced rifle. It is not stamped with an anchor on the receiver, which is normal for a late production piece, but has a small Kanji character on the base of the barrel. The stock has wooden dowels top & bottom near the butt.. The gun is tagged with the GI’s dog tag who brought it home. Also included is a DVD interviewing the GI who brought it home and paperwork where he is buried. C&R Eligible S/N:13080
This is an excellent example of the poor fit into the stock of the late war rifles, and by serial number appears to be within the last 1000 guns produced.
