Guns, Ammo, and Militaria Auction
Lot 2087:
This M1902 Army Officer’s sword. No scabbard. In fair condition overall. Grips with finger grooves are clean and smooth. Blade is blunted, and mottled surface. Etching on both sides still very visible, but looks like sword was bent and straightened approx 8″ from sword tip. Blade length: 27″. Overall length: 33-3/4″. Guard 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. “ANY” obscured on back of blade, below quillon. No other diagnostic marks visible. Officers of this period were obligated to purchase their own sabers as part of their uniform. This requirement wasn’t lifted until WWII, making this piece something that wasn’t just issued en masse. It was sought out by that officer. Seek it out for your collection. Please see pictures.
