Description
“18 Pounder” cannonball approximately 5” diameter and weighs 17.8lbs. Dark, pitted surface overall. No diagnostic markings found. A cannonball of this size would have been used by both British and American Artillery in the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. By the Civil War, this caliber would have seen significantly less use by Union and/or Confederate forces. From the David Hopper collection. Please see pictures
