Description
Studio 1/6 plate tintype of a young Union soldier in uniform standing at attention wearing his belt with cap box and cartridge box with his bayonet fixed musket at his side, with a sword on the other side. Belt buckle and breast plate have gold embellishment and his cheeks have been tinted rose. Image is dark, in VG condition. Mounted behind an oval gold matte in a typical leatherette case, missing its cover. Measures: 3-1/4″ x3-3/4″ x 1/4″ No diagnostic information on back of image. This tintype was part of the Civil War and Indian War display at Donley’s Wild West Town Museum for 45 years.
