Description
This hat is has a very soft and fine beaver wool body. It shows wear to corners of crown. The bullion infantry bugle badge is well made with with velvet background and appears to be tack sewn directly to the front. The hat cord is gold bullion wire with black material foundation. It is our opinion this hat cord is a modern replacement. The reinforced edge to brim and places on top of brim have some worn spots. The liner sweatband is a foam green colored faux leather and some of the stitching has come undone. The lining was purple fabric and shows some age fading. The inside crown is silk-like fabric and is worn very much in the center. The interior has what looks like mouse chews to headband and into the hat itself in one spot. This hat has a great look to it and has maintained it shape perfectly. This is another outstanding example of Civil War headgear.
