Description
Overall length 33″ with 26.25″ blade. Ricasso is marked with faint scroll Ames logo on one side and S.N. D.R. 1862. The blade is bright with no dings or nicks. Tip is good and there are rust spots and discoloration to last 20% of blade. Handle and crossguard are tight. Leather is intact and wire wrap is also tight. Brass handguard is stamped “24 M” over “134”. Leather scabbard is very limp and has series of copper rivets with the last 4 inches having more modern brown leather end cap with newer rivets. This sword represents USN Civil War history very well.
