Description
This is an ultra rare Confederate Hardee hat with a South Carolina button in a black ribbon rosette. It has “1” insignia on front and steel star insignia on the folded brim held in place with two folded brass prongs. The hat is French maker’s embossed logo for Brossier Company, Paris. The wool felt body shows much wear, age and fraying on the brim edge. The sweatband is a black tarred oilcloth and is very dry and has much curling and cracking. The hat cord is gold bullion wire with knot and 2 acorns that shows much tarnish and age. Please contact us if any photo request. This is a quite rare piece of Confederate headgear.
