Made by the Rosenfield Mfg. Co. of New York circa 1905 this coin operated phonograph is the forerunner of what would become the juke box industry. Using a Columbia Type AZ 2 minute cylinder phonograph mechanism Rosenfield held several important patents unique to this machine including an electric motor that rewound the spring motor after the record played. The oak cabinet is on cast iron claw foot legs holding glass balls. The glass and oak fame mechanism cover has beveled glass. The oak wood frame original marquee holds an original hand painted poster advertising the record, “She Waits by the Deep Blue Sea” which matches the cylinder on the machine. 1 cent operation and listen through a set of primitive ear phones. The machine has been professionally restored some years ago and presents very well. The original Emerson Electric 110 volt AC motor winds the spring after the record plays. There are only a handful of these machines known to exist and this definitely ranks at the top. Original locks with replacement key. Measures 71.5″ tall to the top of the removable marquee, 25″ wide, 17″ deep.
