Civil War Period French Tulle Arsenal 1842 .69 Musket in very good condition with minor wear and oxidation. The action seems fully functional and the bore is good with a slight orange color. During the onset of the American Civil War, many foreign weapons of all kinds were imported by both the Union and the Confederacy. The Union purchased 25,000 of these French muskets in which most of these muskets were issued to militia units. There are no records of these muskets going to Confederate units.
