An early brown wax cylinder phonograph record, catalog number 6707, featuring a violin solo of Robert Schumann’s “Träumerei” performed by Frederick W. Hager for Thomas Edison’s National Phonograph Company of Orange, New Jersey dating to May 1899. The lot includes the cylinder, a fragment of the original paper title slip, and a handwritten reference note on blue paper. The cylinder is in structurally stable condition with no cracks or fractures, exhibiting typical surface oxidation, light cloudiness, and a noted rough start at the beginning of the recording.
