A fascinating collection of vintage biographical works celebrating the life and achievements of legendary inventor Thomas Alva Edison, spanning the 1900s through the 1960s. This lot features highly collectible volumes including a 1938 first edition of Edison’s Open Door by his private secretary Alfred O. Tate, published by E.P. Dutton & Co. in New York, and a 1908 edition of Francis Arthur Jones’s Thomas Alva Edison: Sixty Years of an Inventor’s Life from the Thomas Y. Crowell Company. Also included is a beautifully bound copy of Francis Trevelyan Miller’s Thomas A. Edison: Benefactor of Mankind (Winston, 1931) featuring a heartwarming, handwritten 1932 parental birthday inscription, along with The Diary of Thomas A. Edison (Chatham) and a signed presentation copy of Lawrence A. Frost’s The Thomas A. Edison Album inscribed by the author in 1969. The books are in generally good to very good vintage condition, exhibiting expected shelf wear, minor scuffing, and corner bumping to the cloth boards, light foxing to some interior pages, and some chipping and tearing to the original dust jackets where present.
