Description
Bronze bust of Thomas Edison given out at the 26th annual electrical convention held at the New Frontenac Hotel Frontenac Thousand Islands, New York Sept 6-9, 1910 . To mark the convention, the AEIC commissioned and distributed a highly collectible piece of electrical history being a miniature 4-inch-tall solid bronze bust of Thomas A. Edison sculpted by American artist Edwin E. Codman and cast by the famous Gorham Manufacturing Company foundry in Providence, Rhode Island. The back or base of the bronze artifact features three distinct stamped markings Edison Illuminating Cos. Association 1885 (the founding year of the association), Frontenac Thousand Islands Sept. 6-9, 1910 (the exact location and dates of the convention), Gorham Co. Only about 200 of these busts were ever produced and distributed to the elite convention attendees. In overall VG original condition. Measures 4” tall, 2.5” wide, 2.5” deep.
