Description

*Cannot sell 45-70 live round to Illinois residents without valid FOID Card. Authentic U.S. Model 1874 McKeever patent cartridge box, the definitive “clamshell” design utilized by the U.S. Army throughout the Indian War era for the .45-70 Government cartridge. This specimen retains its original canvas loops and includes a single unfired .45-70 round. The front flap features the iconic embossed “US” in an oval, and the reverse side displays the standard twin belt loops with a clear numerical “7” rack stamp. The leather finish remains remarkably smooth with minimal cracking or material loss, indicating superior preservation for its age; however, the lower leather securing strap is missing. While no manufacturer’s mark is visible to the naked eye, these were primarily produced by the Watervliet and Rock Island Arsenals. H 4.25″, W 6.75″, D 1.75″.
