Lot 2166:
Description
This striking textile showcases a classic Navajo-style “Eye Dazzler” aesthetic, heavily influenced by late 19th-century Southwest regional designs. Woven from coarse, natural wool fibers, it features a central serrated diamond motif in vibrant red, black, and cream, flanked by dynamic, repeating zigzag bands in shifting tones of brown, tan, and cream. The piece exhibits characteristic hand-loomed qualities, including slightly uneven edges and a coarse texture typical of regional utility rugs or saddle blankets. Its overall physical condition is fair to good, showing moderate surface wear, minor distortion to the weave shape, some fraying along the upper and lower selvedge edges, and a noticeable small hole near the lower center. H 58″, W 35″, D 0.25″. Please see photos for condition.
