Relics of the American West: 1850-1920
Lot 2165:
Description
This hand-woven textile features a striking Native American Navajo-style design, showcasing a repeating pattern of serrated diamond and arrowhead motifs in a bold palette of grey, red, cream, and dark brown. Woven with thick, textured wool yarns, the flat-weave construction and natural color variegation are characteristic of regional Southwest weaving traditions from the mid-to-late 20th century. The piece displays light, uniform wear consistent with age and use, with minor fuzzing to the wool fibers and slightly relaxed edges, but it remains structurally sound with no major stains, holes, or unraveling. W 41″, L 72″ D .25”. Please see photos for condition.
