The Top 300! - Spring Classic Part 2
Lot 195:
Description
This lot includes a boxed patent model of a field drag which is towed behind a tractor to level the field after plowing before seed is planted. Measures 8.25″ wide, and about 7’25” long. It comes in a walnut hinged lid box which may or may not be original to the piece. There are also 2 unknown zinc gears in the box (see pics). Included also are original drawings by Henry A. Mason of Lawndale Illinois for his patent of a Feeding Device For Hay Baling Presses which was granted on Feb 26, 1918. It comes with three 3″ X 4″ B&W photos of Mason with his device on a farm. His device is very similar to parts on the drag model so it is unknown if Mason conceived his idea from the drag or not but the items came together.
