Description
This iconic Singer 221-1 Featherweight portable sewing machine is a true “workhorse in a tuxedo,” featuring the classic glossy black finish with ornate gold scrollwork decals. Serial number AD889083. Manufactured by The Singer Manufacturing Co. in Elizabethport, New Jersey, these machines are legendary among quilters for their precision and lightweight portability. This comprehensive lot includes the original carrying case, foot controller, bobbin case, various bobbins, thread, and two original manuals: one for the 221-1 machine and another for the buttonhole attachment. The machine shows light vintage wear and surface dust consistent with age; while the light functions, the mechanical operation remains untested. The original carrying case shows significant heavy wear and material loss to the handle, and the key for the case locks is missing. H 12″, W 13.5″, D 8.25″. Please see photos for condition.
