Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2389:
Description
This early 20th-century General Electric ceiling fan is a premier example of industrial artistry, featuring a heavy cast iron motor housing finished in black and adorned with an exquisite raised gold-tone oak leaf and acorn motif. The manufacturer’s brass plate identifies this as an Alternating Current Fan Motor, Model 322068, produced by General Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The lot includes the central motor assembly with a decorative bell-shaped canopy and four rich mahogany-finished wood blades with their original iron mounting brackets. As a specialist in mechanical Americana, I find the preservation of the ornate “Gilded Age” lattice-work housing to be particularly impressive. The item is in good vintage condition; the motor housing shows minor paint loss and surface dust, while the gold accents remain vibrant. The wooden blades exhibit light scuffing and edge wear typical of age, and the original wiring is present but untested and will require professional inspection. H 25″, W 12.5″, D 12.5″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/ Transport required.
