Description
This exceptional character stein commemorates the service of a member of the 1st Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment (1. Fuß-Art.-Rgt. “von Bothmeyer”), stationed in Ingolstadt, during the period of 1907–1909. Crafted from high-quality ceramic with a striking pewter lid shaped like a “Dopp. Z. 92 F.H.” artillery fuse—a fascinating, militaria-themed design—the body features vibrant, detailed lithographic scenes of a soldier with his arm around a maiden holding a basket, alongside the names of fellow servicemen listed on the handle. The piece also includes a lithophane base depicting a sentimental parting scene, a hallmark of fine German character steins. The overall condition is excellent for its age; while there is minor finish loss near the base and a hairline crack near the lithophane mount, the stein remains structurally sound and visually impressive.
