Coin Op & Advertising - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 3
Lot 2310:
Description
This exceptional porcelain reservist stein commemorates the service of a “Kurmärkischer Reiter” (Markish Rider) in the 2nd Escadron of the Kurmärkisches Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 14, stationed in Colmar between 1902 and 1905. The vessel features vibrant, multi-colored transfers depicting scenes of cavalry life and a sentimental farewell, flanked by a comprehensive roster of “Reservisten” names. The ornate pewter lid is a highlight, topped with a majestic eagle finial and a lion-form thumb lift, typical of the high-quality craftsmanship found in Imperial German military memorabilia. While the porcelain body remains visually striking with no loss to the decorative surface, there is a small hairline crack visible on the interior that does not appear to penetrate to the exterior.
H 11.5″, W 5.5″, D 4.25″. Please see photos for condition.
