Firearms and Ammo Auction
Lot 1316:
Description
The Remington Woodmaster Model 742 is a classic semi-automatic rifle, a staple of American hunting camps throughout the mid-to-late 20th century. This particular rifle features a 21.75-inch barrel, and rich, gloss-finished walnut stock with pressed checkering and the iconic “basketweave” pattern synonymous with the Woodmaster line. It comes equipped with a vintage Redfield 2X-7X variable power scope mounted on Weaver rings, a leather sling, and original iron sights. The rifle is in good condition, showing some light field wear and minor scuffing to the high-gloss wood finish, particularly near the buttstock. The bluing on the receiver and barrel remains deep, with only minor thinning at the edges and some light surface marks. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. Bore is clean and rifling is strong. Scope optics are clean and clear. Included with the rifle is the original manual from the Redfield scope and a black padded soft case. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: 334858
