Description
This Mauser K98k bolt-action rifle features a wood stock and a black finish on the metal components, characteristic of a Russian Capture (RC) arsenal rework. It displays mismatched and forced-match serial numbers, specifically “J 4773” on the receiver, “5713” on the bolt handle, and “1155” on the trigger plate and floorplate. The barrel contains visible rifling and requires cleaning. Notable physical attributes include a gap between the buttplate and the stock, and a missing upper retaining band on the handguard. Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and function as intended. The black finish shows areas of wear and thinning, and the stock exhibits dings, scratches, and finish loss.
