Description
Marilyn Monroe 1962 Funeral Program & Bio
This historic lot features two separate framed displays preserving the final rites of Marilyn Monroe. The first frame contains the original 1962 funeral program pieces: the "Remembrance" cover illustrating the Bok Singing Tower and the interior bifold detailing the August 8th service at Westwood Village Mortuary, including the 23rd Psalm. Organized by Joe DiMaggio, these programs were strictly limited to the 31 invited guests, making them premier rarities for Hollywood collectors. The second frame houses a comprehensive historical plaque featuring several iconic photographs and a detailed account of the funeral proceedings, providing vital context to the artifacts. The program shows minor age-toning and light handling wear; both frames and the descriptive plaque are in excellent condition. Provenance: Julien’s Auction Hollywood Legends. Mar 31 – Apr 2, 2012. Beverly Hills. H 11", W 8.5", D 1" (Program Frame); H 11", W 8.5", D 1" (Bio Frame). Please see photos.
