Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1460:
Description
This heavy cast iron fragment is a significant relic from the American Civil War, specifically identified by the hand-painted “Parrott” and “U.S. 100lb” markings. The piece originates from a 100-pounder Parrott rifle projectile, a formidable rifled cannon known for its distinct wrought-iron reinforcing band at the breech. This specific shard shows the characteristic thick-walled construction and exterior pitting typical of excavated ordnance. It is a rugged piece of military history that captures the sheer power of 19th-century artillery. The item remains in stable, “as-found” excavated condition, displaying heavy oxidation, surface pitting, and jagged edges from its original detonation, with the white inventory lettering remaining clear and legible. H 7″, W 5″, D 3″. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
