Description
This striking life-sized floor planter captures the “Egyptomania” revival style with its bold Art Deco lines and dramatic gold and black polychrome finish. Depicting a pharaoh in a ceremonial headdress and pleated shendyt kilt, the figure holds a flaring basin aloft—presently styled with a faux fern—supported by outspread arms that create a powerful silhouette. The piece is likely composed of a heavy cast resin or fiberglass composite, finished to mimic aged bronze and gold leaf. The anatomical detailing and the winged solar disk motif on the circular base suggest a late 20th-century production intended for high-end themed interior design. The item appears to be in very good vintage condition with minor surface scuffs to the finish and light dust accumulation in the recessed areas of the casting.
