Description

This classic “wrangel” style officer’s saber was manufactured by the renowned Carl Eickhorn firm in Solingen, Germany, as evidenced by the distinct “squirrel” logo stamped on the ricasso. A staple of the Third Reich era, this piece features a nickel-plated hilt with a P-shaped guard and a black celluloid grip tightly wrapped in triple-strand silver wire. The straight, single-fullered blade remains bright, though it shows some localized pitting and surface oxidation typical of age. The black painted steel scabbard is included and shows significant paint loss and scattered oxidation throughout. Overall, the piece displays an honest, “untouched” patina with moderate wear to the plated surfaces and some play in the guard. H 37.5″, W 4.5″, D 1″.
