Description
This striking WWII-era German Army Officer’s doves-head style sword features a gilded brass hilt adorned with an eagle and swastika on the cross guard and the “GES. GESCH” patent marking on the underside. The blade is produced by the renowned maker Puma of Solingen, featuring their distinct leaping puma logo, and is housed in its original black-painted steel scabbard with a single suspension ring. The grip is composed of black celluloid with a decorative wire wrap, showing the classic craftsmanship expected from Solingen’s golden era of edged weapons. The piece shows moderate age-related wear, including some loss of gilding on the brass, light oxidation and scuffing on the scabbard, and minor pitting on the blade surface near the hilt.
