This M40-style steel helmet features a distinctive brown finish, likely intended for civil defense or paramilitary organizations like the RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) or SA, though it bears a Luftwaffe-style eagle decal on one side and an organizational SA symbol on the other. The shell includes dual clusters of seven-hole ventilation patterns and a simplified "beaded" or flared rim typical of civil-sector production. The interior retains its original multi-tongue leather liner, though the drawstring and chinstrap are missing. Physically, the piece shows significant surface wear, including scattered scratches, minor oxidation (rust) on the crown and edges, and some deterioration to the leather liner consistent with age and storage. Original blue paint visible in interior crown and thru scratches on exterior top. H 6", W 10", D 12".
