The John Bannister Collection - D-Day and Militaria
Lot 2269:
Description
This WWII-era German Reichskriegsflagge (State War Flag) is a striking example of a German battle flag, featuring the bold iron cross in the upper canton and the centered swastika over a Nordic cross design. Double sided, cotton. The hoist end is reinforced with a heavy white canvas header, clearly ink-stamped with the designated size “100×170,” the flag type “Reichskriegsflg.,” and the manufacturer “Plutzer & Brüll AG, Bielitz” (occupied Poland). The screen-printed colors remain remarkably vibrant on the flag material. Overall condition is excellent for its age, showing only minor storage wear, light fraying at the fly end, and faint staining on the white header, with no significant holes or tears visible. H 38″, W 65″. See photos. Disclaimer: Due to the high quality of WWII German fakes, this item is sold as-is without warranty of authenticity.
