This striking black and white historical photograph depicts a massive, pyramidal pile of American bison (buffalo) skulls, a chilling testament to the scale of the buffalo slaughter that took place in the late 19th century on the Great Plains. The image, likely a reprint of a famous historical photograph, captures two men standing on the pile, emphasizing its enormous size.
