Description

A fantastic, large example of a genuine American Bison which has been cleaned and preserved for display as a rustic or Southwestern-style decorative piece. The natural bone has a pleasing, aged creamy-white to light-tan color, with both horn sheaths intact (removable), featuring a dark, textured surface that tapers to a point. The overall look suggests it was field collected and minimally processed, retaining the rugged, authentic character highly sought after in Western décor. Condition is aged and weathered, consistent with natural decay and cleaning. There are significant areas of bone loss and damage, particularly across the top of the skull and around the nasal passages, which contribute to the item’s rugged aesthetic. A large vertical fissure is visible running down the front of the skull. All molar and premolar teeth are present in the upper jaw, exhibiting natural wear. The horns and bone appear stable despite the damage. H 21″, W 24″, D 8″. From the Western display in Donley’s Wild West Town.
