Description
This striking modern crafted bustle honors traditional Sioux (Lakota, Dakota, or Nakota) regalia ideal for pow-wow dance or display. It features a dense fan of dark, lustrous feathers, likely imitation eagle or Turkey with vibrant orange and red accents creating a dynamic radial design. A circular 2” diameter mirror in the center reflects light back on the audience. Smaller elongated feathers possibly dark Turkey are arranged in pairs along a flowing red fabric wrapped base with yellow trim forming an elegant “trailer” or “spike” style. A thick piece of leather on the back holds all the elements firmly together and is what is attached to the wearer. Designed to be worn at the back, this piece beautifully blends modern craftsmanship with traditional Sioux aesthetic principles, showcasing cultural continuity and artistic expression.
