October Fall Classic
Lot 1325:
Description
This is a fantastic pair of vintage milk glass lamp shades in a vibrant mint green or jadeite color, which were likely manufactured in the United States around the 1920s to 1940s. These shades are designed in the classic schoolhouse or dome style, featuring a gracefully curved lower body that transitions into a thick, banded fitter neck, characteristic of lighting from the Art Deco era. The opaque green glass provides a gorgeous diffused light when illuminated and the color is a sought-after shade for collectors of period lighting and kitchenware. Both shades appear to be in very good vintage condition with no obvious chips or cracks. There is some minor surface wear, including a few small scuff marks and pinpricks of black debris consistent with age and previous use, which does not detract from their striking visual appeal.
