Description
This Union forage cap is a larger than normally found. Has blue fabric blue diamond sewn to crown and highly detailed Union eagle “1” type buttons. The chinstrap shows minor wear and age. The dark blue body stands over 5″ tall and is medium fine wool material with some wear and moth tracks with some pinhead and larger sized random moth holes to cap. The visor has a machine stitched reinforced edge and shows even crazing and is in solid condition. The interior has black leather sweatband, fine brown cotton lining and black lacquered cardboard crown stiffener. The sweatband is somewhat supple. Sweatband is hand stitched to wool body. The overall condition is very good with very even age to all parts and materials. We encourage requests for more pictures. This is almost bar-none the most recognizable and iconic pieces of CW headgear.
