Description
This hat is made of red wool and blue wool band around the base per C.S. regulations. The chinstrap is black oil cloth with bound and tarred visor. The chinstrap buttons are US eagle. Has black oilcloth sweatband and is hand sewn to hat and has fine gray cotton lining with fiber crown board with black lacquer. Condition is very good for the time period. Does have much age and wear with heavy crazing to chinstrap and both sides of visor. Has many random and very clear moth holes and tracks holes. The sweatband has loose stitches to forehead area. This is one of the iconic confederates pieces of CSA headgear. We welcome additional photo requests.
