Description
“1865” Original CIVIL WAR ERA New Haven Henry .44R Henry Rifle. The “Original” lever action and “Game Changing Rifle”. The Henry Rifle was the first lever rifle developed when cartridge guns were in their infancy, and most soldiers were muzzle loading!!! This beautiful example is stamped “HENRY’S PATENT OCT 16, 1860 MANUFACT’D BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CT” The octagon barrel and magazine are in a gray finish with freckles and light pitting, the bore is dark with some oxidation. The receiver has a brass patina finish with minor dings and scratches. The wood is Very good with minor marks and the varnish is in very fine condition . It seems fully functional and cycles smoothly! A couple screws looks to have been replaced in the lower tang. Both sights are intact. Comes with a wood and glass display case, leather sling and 4x original rounds! MFG 1865 C&R Eligible S/N:9071
