Hand-Carved Wooden Folk Art – Pat Garrett, a famous American Old West lawman, bartender, and rancher, gained immortal fame when he tracked down Bill the Kid and shot him in the dark, he was killed while traveling along a road in New Mexico to settle a land dispute, a cowboy named Jesse Wayne Brazel claimed self-defense and was acquitted, artist carved “VIT” in bottom, initials of a talented regional woodcarver that has deep roots in waterfowl decoy carving, the texture work on the clothing and boots strongly mimics the “feather texturing” techniques used by wildlife carvers to give wooden birds a realistic look before paint is applied, figurines have been in storage for 40 years, were going to be put on display at Donley’s Wild West Town, minor scuffs, good condition, 12″ x 6 1/2″
