(2) Antique “I Am A Parrot & “I Am A Lion” Records, die-cut parrot and lion shaped records produced in 1918 by the Talking Book Corporation, audio recorded by the Emerson Phonograph Company, novelty disc are considered milestones in early recorded sound and children’s media, rather than a standard round record, the entire card is beautifully die-cut into the physical shape of the animals, a small, single-sided record track is riveted directly into the center of the heavy cardboard chest, place the entire card directly onto a standard 78 RPM talking machine turntable, it played a recording of a voice speaking as a bird or lion, the flipside of the card contains text of the nursery story, no moisture warping or curling, lithographed graphics are exceptionally bright, small crease, minor paper scuffing, very good condition for cardboard items from 1918, see photos.
