Antique American Optical Co Folding Field Camera, a “St. Louis Reversible Back camera features a reversible back to physically switch from landscape to portrait by disengaging the latches, pull out the ground glass, rotate by hand, then push it back against the camera body, lock brass clips down to secure it, brass plate reads “American Optical Comp’y, New York – Scoville mf’g Co. Proprietors”, wood frame is stamped “Scoville Manufacturing Co. New York, 2″, crafted from premium wood, brass hardware, pleated accordion-style fabric, brass barrel lens, used large-format glass plates, age-related wear, scuffs, scratches, accordion cloth is not torn, comes with variety of sizes of plate holders, focusing screen, etc. fair-good condition, see photos. 16 1/2″ x 12 1/2” (unfolded) Nice item to mount onto a folding tripod or showcase on a fireplace mantel or bookshelf.
