Vintage Railroad Wayside Magneto Telephone, used for lineside communication along train tracks, wood-case wall phone with heavy black Bakelite handset and an internal hand-cranked magneto generator, allowed track workers, train crews, and signal maintainers to communicate directly with block operators, “CWI” stamped on three sides and “Stolen from CWI RR”, possibly Chicago & Western Indiana Railroad?, common practice to prevent employees or public from pocketing valuable tools and equipment, age-related condition,screwed shut, see photos. 14″ x 7″ x 5 1/2″
