Description
Reliance No. 1 Medical Electrotherapy Device, manufactured by Whitall Tatum Company, induction coil converts low voltage from the battery into a higher voltage, pulsating alternating current to deliver a mild electric shock, the center metal cylinder designed to hold a single-cell liquid battery, wooden-handled metal tubes attached to the cloth cords are the electrodes, patients held these in their hands or pressed them against specific areas of the body to receive the electrical stimulation, missing glass battery jar and a flat disc tip on one of the handles, the angled built-in mirror on right side was used to see exactly where applying the electrodes, two u-shaped metal clips to hold other items, missing parts, fair condition, see photos.
