Vintage Santa Claus Cabinet Card Portrait, man dressed as Santa from late 19th century, portrait is embossed on front “Dumont Studio”, New Jersey, oval photo mounted on heavy cardstock, costume represents an earlier evolution of Santa Claus during the Victorian period, coat edge and hat look hand-applied which gives it a rough look characteristic of folk or handmade holiday garments of that era, historic photo has creases, bent corners, minor surface soiling and staining, typical for an unpreserved paper artifact that is over a century old, see photos. 4 7/8″ x 6 7/8″
