Description
This refined bronze sculpture is the work of renowned Western artist Asa “Ace” Powell (1912–1978), a contemporary of Charlie Russell who captured the spirit of the American West with rugged authenticity. The piece features a standing horse with a sleek, elongated neck and a smooth, dark patina that showcases Powell’s mastery of equine anatomy. This specific casting is part of a limited edition, clearly marked 15/36 on the textured rectangular base alongside the cast “POWELL” signature and rectangular hallmark. The sculpture remains in very good condition, showing only light surface oxidation and minor shelf wear to the base consistent with its age, with a hollow-cast underside featuring two mounting holes. H 9″, W 9″, D 3″. Please see photos.
