Description

An excellent pairing of authentic Navajo etched pottery, showcasing traditional Southwest craftsmanship and sgraffito techniques. The larger vessel, signed W. Johnson, features intricate geometric bands and serrated “mountain” motifs in earthy terracotta, blue, and cream slips. The smaller globular pot is signed and dated Dennis Charlie, Navajo, 12-15-22, and displays a striking black slip base with a finely etched scene of Monument Valley and desert flora. Both pieces represent contemporary Native American artistry from the Four Corners region of the American Southwest. Both items appear to be in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs; the slips remain vibrant and the etched details are crisp. Large: H 8.5″, W 6.5″, D 6.5″. Small: H 2″, W 3″, D 3″. Please see photos.
