Relics of the American West: 1850-1920
Lot 2235:
Description
A comprehensive assemblage of thirty-four Native American projectile points, primarily from the Archaic to Woodland periods, presented in four red-lined Ryker mounts. This collection showcases a diverse range of lithic materials, including various grades of chert, flint, and jasper in a palette of cream, tan, grey, and deep chocolate. The set features a notable variety of regional styles, including corner-notched, side-notched, and lanceolate forms. These artifacts exhibit varying degrees of field wear, with visible edge chipping, surface patination, and minor tip loss consistent with age and subterranean discovery, though several specimens retain sharp serrations and well-defined flaking. Individual points range from approximately 1.5″ to 3.5″ in length. H 12″, W 10″, D 1″. Please see photos for condition.
