Relics of the American West: 1850-1920
Lot 2057:
Description
This early-to-mid 20th-century professional-grade animal trap is a fantastic piece of utilitarian ironwork, likely hand-forged or of early industrial manufacture. Featuring a classic double-spring design with a flat pan and a sturdy cross-frame, it exemplifies the rugged hardware used by North American trappers. The metal shows a deep, natural oxidized patina and surface pitting consistent with age and outdoor use, though the springs and mechanical components appear structurally sound and intact. Wear is consistent with a working tool of this era, including some blunted edges on the jaws and surface rust. H 5″, W 21″, D 8″ Please see photos for condition.
