Description

A stellar grouping of vintage music discography and record label history reference books, perfect for any serious archivist or early recorded sound collector, featuring the comprehensive two-volume set of Jazz Records 1897-1942 (5th Revised and Enlarged Edition) compiled by Brian Rust and published by Storyville Publications in Chigwell, Essex, England (1983). Also included is an advanced review copy of Pathé Records and Phonographs in America, 1914-1922 (Second Edition) by George A. Copeland and Ronald Dethlefson, showcasing a personal signed inscription by Ron Dethlefson dated 9/14/00 to noted phonograph historian Allen Koenigsberg. The lot is rounded out by a signed copy of Note the Notes: An Illustrated History of the Columbia 78 rpm Record Label 1901-1958 by Michael W. Sherman and Kurt R. Nauck III (1998), inscribed by Sherman to Allen, alongside a Summer 1962 copy of Recorded Sound (Journal of the British Institute of Recorded Sound). The collection shows minor handling wear, light cover scuffing, and minor toning consistent with age, but remains in very good, clean, and entirely usable condition. H 5.25″, W 11″, D 9″. See photos.
